We are currently in the process of bringing a new database server online – with SSD-based (flash) storage (instead of a traditional hard drive); which should bring a significant speed boost. We’re used to hearing that our hosting is faster than our customers had before moving to us – now, it should be even more so!
This should not have any impact on users, and the transition, when it occurs, should be seamless (there may be a few minutes of downtime, but not more than that).
All users on our shared web hosting platform should henceforth use “mysql1.simbahosting.co.uk” when configuring a database server in any applications which they set up. (You do not need to take any action for existing applications – these have already been updated).
